Mets sign Jason Bay

Free agent outfielder Jason Bay has reached an agreement with New York Mets, with a four year, $66 million contract. Bay, who hit .267, with 36 home runs, and 119 RBI with the Boston Red Sox last season was perhaps the most sought free agent outfielder on the market this offseason. Bay boosts the middle of a Mets lineup that wore down with age and injuries last year.

In other free agent news, infielder Mark DeRosa has signed a two year, $12 million deal with the San Francisco. DeRosa, who hit .250 with 23 home runs, and 78 RBI with Cleveland and St. Louis last year, provides needed power for the light-hitting Giants.
