Ingram Wins Heisman

In the closest ever vote in the history of the award, Mark Ingram came out on top. The Alabama running back becomes the 75th winner of the award representing the best player in college football, edging out Stanford running back Toby Gerhart by a mere 28 points. Third was Texas QB Colt McCoy, while Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and 2007 winner Florida QB Tim Tebow rounded out the top five. Ingram, this year, for #1 Alabama, who will face McCoy and #2 Texas for the BCS National Championship in Pasadena, California January 7, has gained a school-record 1542 yards and scored 18 touchdowns. "I'm a little overwhelmed right now," he said on the podium. "I'm just so excited to bring Alabama their first Heisman winner."
