Happy Thanksgiving 2012!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers and hope you guys enjoy a great day filled with food, family, and football.

Here are my Thanksgiving football picks:

Texans @ Lions 12:30 PM ET on CBS
My hometown Texans are appearing on Thanksgiving for the first time ever, and at 9-1, are the top seed in the AFC. Sunday's disastrous defensive performance aside (gave up 37 points to Chad Henne-led Jags?!?!!), the Texans defense (led by all-world DE JJ Watt) has been amazing this year, but will be tested by Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, and the explosive Lions. Detroit is in the top 10 in offense and defense this year, so they definitely are better than their 4-6 record would lead you believe. Finding consistency week to week has been their problem, as they've lost many games in the final quarter. Should be fun, competitive game to watch, but in the end, I can't pick against my Texans.

Redskins @ Cowboys 4:15 PM ET on FOX

RG3 returns to the Lone Star State, and there will definitely be some Baylor green in the crowd at Cowboys Stadium, but look for the improved Dallas defense to contain him, and force him to beat them with his arm. Meanwhile, expect Tony Romo and the 'Boys passing game to have a big day against the horrid pass defense of the Redskins. Should be an easy Cowboys victory, but of course, nothing comes easy nowadays in Big D.

Patriots @ Jets 8:20 PM ET on NBC
AFC East rivals go under the lights on Thanksgiving with the Jets facing another must-win situation against the red hot Patriots. New York actually almost pulled off the upset in their first meeting this year, but the Patriots are playing much better as of late, and look for the turnover-prone Mark Sanchez to struggle against the ball-hawks of the Patriot secondary.

TCU @ #16 Texas 7:30 PM ET on ESPN
First year it isn't A&M that the Longhorns are facing on Thanksgiving, as TCU is Texas' opponent instead. The Horned Frogs have struggled through injuries (drug suspensions) and inconsistency in their first season in the Big 12. Meanwhile, Texas has bounced back with four straight wins after getting destroyed by Oklhaoma, through a much improved defense (it really couldn't have gotten worse), and can actually clinch a share of the Big 12 title if it wins out. If TCU's defense can stop the Johnathan Gray, Joe Bergeron and the Texas rushing attack, they have a chance. But in the end, I think the Frogs D is bound to wear down.
