Yankees Win World Series

Well, money ($192.5 million to be exact) does buy happiness in this case. The New York Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 last night to win their 27th championship, their first since 2000. World Series MVP Hideki Matsui had a World Series record 6 RBI in the Game 6 clincher at the new Yankee Stadium. "It feels better than I remember it, man," captain Derek Jeter said. "It's been a long time." For Philadelphia, a quest to repeat as champs falls two games short. "I told them that I loved the way they played. We're fighters and never quit," Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said. "We want to keep what we got as far as attitude and chemistry."

  1. I don't like the Yankee way, but it works. They have ownership that cares only about winning.Philadelphia had a good season and if they can find another quality starter and Hamels can bounce back they'll be there once again.
