Happy Thanksgiving 2009

Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers and hope you guys enjoy a great day.

In the world of sports, Allen Iverson has announced his retirement after no team was willing to give him starters' minutes. Also, the New Jersey Nets lost again, and are now 0-15, two losses shy of an NBA record 0-17 by the 1988-89 Miami Heat and 1999 Los Angeles Clippers.

Here are my Thanksgiving NFL picks:

Packers @ Lions 12:30 PM ET on FOX
Great last second win by Matthew Stafford and Detroit last week over Cleveland. Stafford is out for this game, though, and I don't think the Lions can stop Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense.

Raiders @ Cowboys 4:15 PM ET on CBS

Well, Raiders did beat the Bengals last week, and Dallas squeaked by the Redskins. But who are we kidding, Cowboys traditionally dominate on these Thanksgiving games, and the Bruce Gradkowski-led Oakland offense won't be able to keep up.

Giants @ Broncos 8:20 PM ET on NFL Network
Well, once again the best matchup of Turkey Day is on NFL Network. Both teams desperately need a win, especially the Broncos, who have lost four straight after a 6-0 start. Both defenses have fallen off drastically after great starts, and in the end, I like the Giants running game with Brandon Jacobs in the lineup.
